Who we are

CINQUE TERRE PHOTOGRAPHERS

We are Debora, David and little Leonardo. We are a family of creatives who live between Moneglia, a seaside village near the Cinque Terre, and Genoa, the capital of Liguria.

DEBORA

A lover of well-being, health and good food, she studied oriental philosophy, focussing on the Yin and Yang concept and macrobiotics alongside Master René Lévy for over ten years, where she met and worked with Professor Franco Berrino and Shigeko Nakamura. Passionate about cooking and baking, she has had direct experiences with Michelin starred chefs, working in London for Alain Ducasse and deepening her studies at the Gambero Rosso laboratory. She worked in the fashion world as a hair stylist for many years, at MUA and as Art Director at Aldo Coppola. She is a yoga teacher, specializing in yoga in pregnancy and meditation. In Florence, she deepened her studies in holistic bodywork and care. She is a co-founder of Lovvia and art director for their award-winning short films.

LEONARDO

I am an affectionate, curious child who loves words and numbers. I like playing with other children and discovering the world together with my mum and dad. I love music, especially the great classics of the 50s and 60s.

DAVID

David Valolao graduated in Graphics and Design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Genoa. He discovered his passion for storytelling and filmmaking at the age of twenty. His first short film was Exit, a thriller. In 2015 he received the Tim Vision Web Film Award from Oscar-winner Gabriele Salvatore, for his short film The Hidden Soul. In 2017 he wrote and directed the award-winning A Match at the Ends of the World, publishing the screenplay with Edizioni Progetto Cultura. That same year he began a degree in Philosophy. In 2020 he produced the award-winning short documentary Melina.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We love spontaneity, naturalness and are not into photoshop makeovers. We like authenticity and the natural beauty that characterises each of us. We do not use flash or artificial lighting. We observe our surroundings to enhance natural light. We are nature lovers and put our know-how at the service of people who want to experience a unique Cinque Terre adventure.
